It’s clear that the Trump-GOP tax scam is not benefiting working people.

Tell Congress:

“Oppose any new Trump tax proposal and repeal the Trump tax scam that only benefits corporations and the wealthy.”

John,

Two years ago this week, Donald Trump signed his tax scam into law. Since then, he and congressional Republicans have proposed trillions of dollars in cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, education, and more to pay for their $2 trillion handout to the rich and corporations.

Now, as an election year ruse (or more likely a Hail Mary pass), Trump is rumored to be seriously considering another tax cut.[1] But don’t be fooled!

In 2017, Trump told us that working families would receive a raise between $4,000 - $9,000 from their employers due to his tax cuts. Instead, median family income rose just $514 last year while CEOs and wealthy corporate shareholders are making out like bandits.[2]

Join Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund and our allies at CREDO Action in telling Congress to reject any new Trump tax proposal. Instead, we should be repealing the Trump tax scam for the rich and corporations.

In 2017, Donald Trump, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell told us repeatedly that the giant, unpaid-for tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations would increase jobs, pay for themselves, give every family a big raise and really hurt rich people like Donald Trump. The evidence says otherwise—overwhelmingly!

In a new report from Americans for Tax Fairness titled, “Trump-GOP Tax Cuts Failing Workers & the Economy,” ATF details eight promises (er, lies) made by Trump and congressional Republicans that helped speed enactment of the tax scam. Each is rated FALSE.

It’s clear that the Trump-GOP tax scam is not benefiting working people. The big winners are the rich and corporations.

In fact, in 2018, 91 profitable Fortune 500 corporations—such as Amazon, FedEx, General Motors, Netflix and Starbucks—paid no U.S. corporate income taxes and instead got billions of dollars back in tax rebates.[3] And, instead of investing in their workers, corporations have instead used their tax savings for stock buybacks, which primarily benefit executives and other wealthy shareholders.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that the tax scam is costing the American people nearly $2 trillion―increasing the deficit by 70% since President Obama’s final year in office.

On the two-year anniversary of the Trump-GOP tax scam, sign the petition to Congress to reject any new Trump tax cuts and instead repeal the tax scam for the rich and corporations.

Together, it’s up to us to rally the American people against the failed trickle-down policies of the Trump administration and make a winning case for progressive tax reform in 2020 that lifts up working families.

Thank you,

Frank Clemente
