In Syria and other war zones, the weather is wet and bitter cold. These winter conditions have compounded the hardships displaced families are facing. According to the UN, "The humanitarian situation in Syria is worse than at the start of the year." In the space of just five days in Idlib, Syria alone, at least 100,000 people have been forced to flee their homes — with thousands more unable to reach safety due to the intensity of hostilities.
