Friend, We wrapped up our seventh 20-county tour this week! Check out our highlights from this round of stops below: 📍Linn County (Cedar Rapids) – We visited the Freedom Foundation in Cedar Rapids to learn more about their work to serve veterans in our community. 📍Benton County (Vinton) – We toured Main Street businesses in Vinton and heard about how small businesses are grappling with inflation and supply chain disruptions. 📍Marshall County (Marshalltown) – At the Marshalltown Medical Clinic, we learned more about the health care services they offer and how they are going above and beyond to keep community healthy. 📍Poweshiek County (Malcom) – In Malcom, we visited BASF Corporation. We met with employees and heard more about their employee veterans resources group! 📍Black Hawk County (Waterloo) – At Peoples Community Health Clinic in Waterloo, we discussed how the clinic continues to adapt to best serve the community and the need for more health care workers. I am so grateful for our health care heroes! 📍Dubuque County (Dubuque) – In Dubuque, I was joined by the American Flood Coalition and local officials to tour several flood mitigation projects and discuss forward-looking resiliency efforts. 📍Jones County (Monticello) – I met with the Jones County Veterans Affairs Commission and Administrator to talk about resources that are available for veterans and how we can work together to ensure veterans are receiving the care they have earned. 📍Winneshiek County (Decorah) - We visited The Spectrum Network and learned more about their work to ensure those with disabilities and mental illness can lead fulfilling lives and enter the workforce. 📍Howard County (Cresco) – In Cresco, we visited Featherlite Trailers. They manufacture trailers right in our district that are used by many in the agriculture industry. 📍Allamakee County (Waukon) – In Waukon, we visited the Veterans Memorial Hospital and talked about my legislation to improve access to maternal health care services in rural areas. 📍Clayton County (Elkader) – I enjoyed touring Alpine Communications in Elkader. We talked about their efforts to bolster rural broadband and ensure everyone has internet access. 📍Fayette County (Oelwein) – We visited with the team at the Community Bank of Oelwein. We learned more about economic development projects in the community and how they are utilizing a historic building for potential event space! 📍Tama County (Traer) – South of Traer, we met with Tama County's Women, Land & Legacy, an agriculture cooperative that empowers female landowners to make a positive difference in their communities and to be the best stewards of their land. 📍Worth County (Northwood) – At Child Time Daycare Center, we discussed their efforts to provide critical child access to those in the community and the need to combat inflation. 📍Mitchell County (St. Ansgar) – We visited the Duenow Quarry owned by L.R. Falk Construction in St. Ansgar -- they specialize in the custom crushing and delivery of limestone products. 📍Bremer County (Waverly) – I had a productive meeting with the amazing team at CUNA Mutual Group in Waverly. We discussed how their team is helping families, small businesses, and cooperatives save for the future. 📍Buchanan County (Independence) – I met with the Buchanan County Secondary Road Department and heard more about their innovative solutions to strengthen Buchanan County's road infrastructure. 📍Iowa County (Amana) – It was great to visit Whirlpool Corporation and learn more about the history of the Amana plant. It is truly the pride of the community! 📍Delaware County (Edgewood) – We went to Kendrick Forest Products in Edgewood to learn more about their family-owned and operated business and how inflation and supply chain disruptions are hurting their operation. 📍Jackson County (Maquoketa) – In Maquoketa, I visited Innovate 120, a hub for entrepreneurship and collaboration in the community. It was inspiring to see how they are turning dreams into realities for young people in the community! Read on below for more information about my work for Iowans this week! I’ll continue to be a strong advocate for Dubuque in Congress. Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives Productive conversation with the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives this week – grateful for the work they do to provide safe and affordable power and broadband access across our state.
