Hey John! It's Karen here -- Jay's wife.

The days and hours before big FEC deadlines are always a pretty stressful time for Jay and the campaign staff.

I’m working late with the team, because after tonight's midnight deadline, we’ll have to publicly announce how much our campaign has raised over the last three months. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, because after these numbers go public, it'll become pretty clear whether or not we have the resources to win this race.

We’re confident we’ll make a statement, but we’re running out of time. That’s why I’m hoping this email can generate about $16,000 in grassroots donations to stay on track to hit our target. We really don’t want to come up short, John.

Before I sign off, I’m asking if you can dig deep and make your very first donation of $3 before this deadline hits.I was so proud of Jay for making the decision to run for Congress.

Truth be told, I never imagined how high the stakes would become in the last few months. For starters, Jay’s race has landed smack dab in the middle of the fight for the U.S House. Then, after Roe v. Wade was overruled, it became clear that this campaign is much bigger than just winning one seat.

We need to lay it all out there in these final hours, so I’m asking one last time if you can dig deep and help us in this final sprint. Please, chip in a donation to help Jay hit this goal.
