96 Less Than 40 Days Out It's hard to believe it, but we're less
than 40 days out from election day. And earlier this week, I sat down
with Howey Politics Indiana (over the phone) to discuss what is coming
to be the homestretch.

From what we're seeing, the Indiana Republican
Party is gearing up for another solid election year. As we travel the
state, we are hearing more and more about how inflation, the country's
faltering national economy, and crime across Democrat-led cities are
affecting Hoosiers. The good news is that our candidates are already out
talking about those issues at Hoosiers' doors and in the mail. I fully
expect that those issues are what will drive Hoosiers this election
cycle and once again put Republicans across the finish line first.
But this is only possible if folks are out their volunteering to knock
on doors, make phone calls, connect with voters and help spread our
message to keep Indiana moving forward and put our country back on
track.

Thankfully, all across the state, we have dedicated Hoosier
Republicans doing just that. And to all of those, we say "thank you" for
everything you have done and continue to do.

Now, together, let's
sprint through the finish line and get the job done!

Enjoy this
week's newsletter and share it with a friend.

Sincerely,

Chairman
Kyle Hupfer
Governor Holcomb's Week That WasSpeaking on
Economic Development Efforts Gov. Holcomb speaks during a fireside chat
at a Greater Fort Wayne Inc. Chamber Alliance event. (Sept. 28, 2022).
On Wednesday, Gov. Holcomb was in Ft. Wayne discussing economic
development efforts in the area.

scuss-economic-development-opportunities/ Ft. Wayne's NBC:

Gov.
Holcomb kicked off the day at a Greater Fort Wayne Inc. Chamber
Alliance event, holding a Q&A to talk about opportunities for economic
development with community business leaders.

During that discussion,
he said northeast Indiana has been a leader in capital
investment—growing by over 140% through the third quarter. He noted
that with that growth in investment comes a need to grow the state’s
workforce. To do so, he said he would like to see more direct talent
pipelines from schools to businesses to keep workers from leaving the
state.

He says this would mean more funding for K-12 schools, noting
that he expects his administration to lay out its budget priorities
after the midterm election.

“We’ll continue to push for, not just
more funding for funding’s sake. We want to be able to attract more
teachers to the profession. This is a foundational investment, it makes
everything harder if it’s not working.

We want to make sure that the
community is behind the investments in our K-12 portfolio. We see that
in Allen County and all over the state of Indiana. We just want to make
sure that it’s happening everywhere, all the time.” — Gov. Holcomb
Signing HEA 1209 On Tuesday, Gov. Holcomb was in Whiting to
ceremonially sign HEA 1209, a bill that will put Indiana on a path
toward becoming a leader in clean energy while fostering economic
growth and decreasing carbon emissions.

[link removed] On the most
important issues like the economy, inflation, and crime, the White
House and Washington Democrats have failed us.

But House Republicans
have a plan and a new approach to getting us back on track — the
Commitment to America.

In less than 40 days, we'll send a message
loud and clear that the Democrats' record of failure after failure is
unacceptable and help our country take the first step in making this
commitment a reality.

Green Challenges Democrat Rep. Frank Mrvan to Three Debates On Tuesday,
Jennifer-Ruth Green challenged Congressman Frank Mrvan to three
debates.

“We are clearly worse off than we were two years ago, and
Congressman Mrvan has voted for all of the policies that have led to
40-year high inflation, record prices, soaring interest rates, crashing
pension funds and 401ks, and a recession. It’s time for Frank Mrvan to
defend his record before the voters,” Green said. “Mrvan is trying to
change the subject and talk about anything but his record, but voters
deserve a real debate of the issues.”

“Green is calling for three
debates with neutral moderators, including one televised debate, so the
voters of northwest Indiana have a chance to hear from the candidates
and cut through the noise of the false TV ads Nancy Pelosi is
bankrolling to save Mrvan’s struggling campaign,” said Ashleigh
Presnar, Green’s Campaign Manager.

From

e-spinning-bidens-wheres-jackie-gaffe?intcmp=tw_fnc FOX News:

The
head of Indiana's Republican Party said Thursday that President Biden's
remarks in which he appeared to forget about the death of a
congresswoman during a White House event "calls so much into question."
Kyle Hupfer, the Indiana Republican Party Chairman, said people
deserve an answer as to why Biden appeared to forget about the Aug. 3
death of Rep. Jackie Walorski.

"No amount of spin from the White
House can justify President Joe Biden forgetting the tragic passing of
Jackie Walorski — the latest gaffe that calls so much into question,"
Hupfer said. "The American people deserve a straight answer, not a
political talking point, as to how the President of the United States
could forget that a congresswoman he was purportedly trying to honor
had passed away just last month."

Indiana taxpayers
should check their mail if they’re expecting a refund check.

State
Auditor Tera Klutz, certified public accountant, confirmed on Thursday
that more than 1.5 million automatic taxpayer refund checks have been
printed and mailed, which means all the checks have been sent.

“We
successfully completed printing on September 21 and sent the last batch
of automatic taxpayer refund checks to the postal service on September
22,” Klutz said in a release. “Most Hoosiers who filed a 2020 tax
return in 2021, should have received their automatic taxpayer refund
via direct deposit or mailed check by now.”
