John, I’m coming to you right now with a heavy heart.
Hurricane Ian has devastated swaths of western and central Florida, leaving an unprecedented level of destruction in its path.
Communities along Florida’s west coast including Fort Myers Beach, Bonita Springs, and Naples were among the areas hit the hardest and almost completely leveled by this storm.
Even though the hurricane has passed, our state is still reeling.
Search and rescue is underway to save trapped people from flooded homes, 2 million people are still without power, and the death toll continues to rise.
We can’t ignore the systemic failures from the top that made our state so vulnerable to this hurricane. We’re seeing the cost of inaction, and our leaders need to step up to ensure that our infrastructure can withstand the next storm.
But right now, we need to do what we can to help those in the most affected areas as they begin to survey the damage and pick up the pieces left in the wake of this hurricane.
So I’m asking you to join me by donating to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s Disaster Relief Efforts. They’re working to bring emergency food supplies to Florida’s most impacted areas and provide meals to Floridians that have lost everything in this storm. Please, donate anything you can to support their efforts >>
Thank you,
Maxwell Frost
