My name is Dr. Kim Schrier. I'm a pediatrician, mother, and representative for Washington's 8th Congressional District. I'm reaching out today because I'm running for re-election in one of the most competitive districts in the country.

Control of the House majority hinges on WA-08 and election experts are calling my race a "toss up." In our primary election, votes in WA-08 were split almost exactly 50/50 – so this race is going to be close.

I'm running against an extreme, MAGA Republican, Matt Larkin. Larkin is an unapologetically anti-choice Republican who celebrated the end of Roe v. Wade, said he "loves all the things" President Trump does, and even refused to say if Joe Biden's victory was legitimate. National Republicans and my opponent will do – and spend – whatever it takes to flip this seat red, so I need your support right away to win in November.

I never thought I would run for political office, but that changed after the 2016 election. I watched Republicans in Congress stand in lockstep with a corrupt president on the wrong side of every issue near and dear to my heart – healthcare, environment, education, and children’s wellbeing. And then I saw my own representative vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act. That was the last straw for me, so I decided to run for Congress.

Thanks to the support of an amazing grassroots team, we flipped Washington's 8th District blue for the first time ever in 2018 and kept it blue in 2020 – even with Republican dark money groups spending millions of dollars to defeat me.

Since coming to Congress, I've helped pass legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs, invest in our infrastructure, protect the environment, and so much more. And as the only pro-choice woman doctor in Congress, I will always fight to protect a woman’s right to choose. I'm running for re-election to continue making progress for Washingtonians, and to protect the nation from extremist politicians, but I can't win without grassroots support.
