It is an honor to represent our district in Congress. My team and I are always here to help. Please feel free to contact my office at any time with any questions or concerns you may have. THE HAPPENINGS IN CONGRESS Rolling Out the Commitment to America This week I participated in a press conference with House Leadership and my fellow House Republicans on our Commitment to America. For the past 17 months, inflation has outpaced wages as grocery, transportation, and energy costs continue to rise. It’s time to put an end to the irresponsible Democrat spending that got us into this mess and get America back on track. Click here to learn about our plan that puts you first. SPENDING TIME IN TX-23 Visited Tech Port San Antonio From robotics to cybersecurity, Tech Port San Antonio’s innovative programs host and train the workforce of the future. Sporting the most technologically advanced arena in the nation, they hold events ranging from summer camps to concerts. These folks are doing incredible work in shaping future generations by allowing kids to discover different career paths in STEM at an early age. This is a great investment for San Antonio, and I am happy to support their mission in Congress. Border Briefing With Homeland Security Investigations Drug and human smuggling is happening at unprecedented levels across our southern border. That's why I met with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Antonio to discuss their efforts to combat this illegal activity and keep Americans safe. They highlighted the dangers of fentanyl, and how open borders have allowed this drug to become the leading cause of overdose deaths. Thank you to the HSI team for taking the time to meet with me, and to the brave men and women who work on the frontlines of this crisis each day. We will continue to work together to secure our nation. Tour and Briefing at Lackland Air Force Base I stopped by Lackland Airforce Base for a briefing and tour where I was shown various military construction projects that are underway. During my visit, I was able to get a firsthand look into the training facilities and dormitories where basic training is completed. We also discussed the future of Space Force and the ways that I can help their mission through my role on the House Appropriations Committee. Discussed the Dangers of Biden's Border Crisis on Fox Business Record high numbers of illegal border crossings are costing American taxpayers billions of dollars while jeopardizing our nation's safety. Many bad actors have crossed into the United States through the Texas-Mexico border, including 78 people on the terrorist watchlist. The cartels are growing, and the Biden Administration has turned a blind eye to the dangers of this situation. That’s why House Republicans are rolling out the Commitment to America to secure our southern border and keep American communities safe from the dangers of human and drug trafficking. See below for my full interview discussing the issue on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo.
