John, it's Sen. Tom Carper. I'm writing to you on behalf of my colleague and friend, Sen. Mark Kelly from Arizona.

Mark is running in one of the closest races in the country. CNN recently named Arizona one of the most likely Senate seats to flip in 2022, and recent polls have shown Mark and his opponent in a statistical tie.

With the Senate split 50-50, we cannot afford to lose Mark's seat. But his extremist opponent has a super PAC with nearly unlimited funds bankrolling his campaign. It's going to take a huge grassroots movement to pull this off. That's why I have to ask: Please, before our midnight FEC reporting deadline tonight, will you split an end-of-quarter donation between Mark Kelly and me to defend our Senate majority?

Mark and I have a lot in common. We're both proud family men. We've both served in the Navy to defend democracy and freedom. We are both fiercely driven by service – to our families, to our communities, to our states, and to our country.

And we've both found purpose as advocates and close partners in the Senate. I'm especially proud of our bold, forward-thinking work serving together on the Environment and Public Works Committee. You see, we both recognize that one of the greatest services we can do for our country is to protect our home: planet Earth (a sight that Mark knows well!).

But the guy that Mark is up against couldn't be more his opposite. Blake Masters has spent his life in service only to a Big Tech billionaire – the same megadonor who's now bankrolling his campaign. And while Mark is an incredible ally in the fight against global warming, Masters is a climate change denier: He still believes it’s a question of whether Earth is even warming up and if humans are responsible.

The Senate needs Mark's voice in it – and we cannot afford another far-right conspiracy theorist taking his place. That's why, ahead of the final FEC end-of-quarter deadline before the election, I'm counting on you to split a $5 donation between our campaigns to keep Mark in the Senate, defend our majority, and win a bright future for our planet.
