What comes to mind when you hear the question: “What is the number one cause of death for Americans aged 18-45?”
Car accidents? No.
Suicide? No.
COVID-19? No.
Since 2020, the leading cause of death for this group is fentanyl overdoses. Here’s a staggering statistic—nearly 154 Americans die from fentanyl daily. To put that in perspective, that is the equivalent of 38 mass shootings.
What is Democrat-controlled Washington doing about this?
Diddly squat. Because then they would have to admit we have a problem at our southern border, and their heads are too far in the sand to see the rampant crime, violence, and drugs that are wiping out an entire generation.
This is unacceptable.
That’s why I am pushing for more severe punishments for drug traffickers with the Fentanyl Traffic Elimination Act. It is long overdue. We have to hold fentanyl smugglers accountable for their role in this epidemic.
Fentanyl is a weapon of mass destruction—and we have to treat it that way.
