A new poll released this week shows that Governor Murphy’s favorability has made a sharp double-digit increase from just six months ago [[link removed]] . From turning around NJ’s economy, to making health care more accessible & affordable, to standing up for reproductive freedom, Governor Murphy is a forward thinking, progressive leader who protects both our freedoms and our pockets. The investments in working people and our economy that Governor Murphy and Democrats in the legislature have been fighting for are making our state a more affordable and equitable place for families to live, and the people of New Jersey can see that.
Additionally, since enacting the Murphy administration’s 2022 budget plan, the three major rating agencies, Moody's, Fitch and S&P Global Ratings, have each upgraded New Jersey’s credit rating, and also projected that steps taken by New Jersey are “likely to yield further gains going forward” [[link removed]] — a testament to the leadership of Governor Murphy and Democrats in the state legislature who have fought for long-term financially prudent decision making. This is a stark contrast to the 11 consecutive credit downgrades after the Great Recession under Governor Christie.
Time and time again, Democrats prove that we are focused on the economy, focused on working families, and focused on making your lives better. In contrast, Republicans consistently vote against policies that can have direct benefit to our working families, and vote for policies that benefit only a select few. We need to elect and re-elect Democrats to make sure that your rights are protected.

This week President Biden held a conference on hunger, nutrition, and health, the first such conference at the White House since 1969. Biden released a plan [[link removed]] with the goal of ending hunger in the U.S. by 2030. The plan includes investments in expanding monthly benefits that help low-income Americans buy food and increasing healthy eating and physical activity so that fewer people are afflicted with diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and other diet-related diseases. Also, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility would be expanded, children would get better access to free meals, and summer benefits would be extended to more school-age children.
President Biden said that “the consequences of food insecurity and diet-related diseases are significant, far reaching, and disproportionately impact historically underserved communities.” I applaud the Biden-Harris administration for putting words to action in the fight to eradicate hunger in our country - an issue that we should not be facing in one of the wealthiest nations in the world.
