John,
When I’m questioning a witness during a congressional hearing, each Member has a limited amount of time, so I have to get right to it. I’ll do the same in this email!
Why I’m asking for donations right now: Our final end of quarter fundraising deadline of the election is tonight, and after midnight we have to publicly report how much we’ve raised. It’s so important we put up a strong number—the conservative groups who have spent millions of dollars attacking me are watching closely, and a strong number can deter additional GOP ad buys. |
Why my race is worth supporting: Our district is made up of an equal number of Democrats and Republicans, making it a real toss-up. Because of redistricting, nearly 70% of those voters are new to me, meaning we have to work even harder to reach these new voters to tell them who I am. |
Why I’m asking you and not a lobbyist: I have to ask supporters like you for donations because I don’t take money from corporate PACs, lobbyists, or executives at Big Oil, Big Pharma, or Wall Street Banks. The majority of our contributions are $25 or less. This campaign is fueled by grassroots donors and I have every intention of keeping it that way! |
I’m so appreciative of anything you can give (especially before midnight tonight)!

Katie Porter
Katie is running for re-election in California’s 47th district, which includes Irvine and coastal Orange County. This purple district contains an equal number of Democrats and Republicans and is a must-win for Democrats. Consider pitching in today so we have the resources to keep Katie in Congress fighting for working people. |
