This week, House Republicans unveiled our Commitment to America outlining the conservative plan to fight against the Biden Administration’s reckless policies and put the United States back on the path to prosperity.
I am fighting for these policies to create an economy that’s strong, a nation that’s safe, a future that’s built on freedom, and a government that’s accountable. The American people can no longer afford the price of socialism, inflation, and Green New Deal policies. It’s time to stop the radical ideas that got us in this situation in the first place.
This starts by standing up to the status quo and reining in out-of-control government spending. I voted against the Democrats’ government funding bill this week because I will not support legislation that gives another dollar to Joe Biden’s open-border and soft-on-crime agenda. Republicans cannot continue to enable this president.

GOODEN TAKES ON BIG BANKS TO PROTECT SMALL BUSINESSES
I recently introduced legislation to protect small businesses from extortion and corruption within the financial sector. Major credit card companies have collaborated for years to increase fees for merchants who accept their credit cards, increasing the price of goods for the consumer. My bill, the Credit Card Competition Act, would create competition in the market and lower prices at the store. Congress must protect small businesses and ensure companies like Visa and Mastercard can no longer use their monopolistic power to crush their competition.
Do you support holding the nation's largest credit card companies and big banks accountable for colluding to pad their pockets and increase prices for consumers at the store?
Congressman Gooden joined his colleagues in introducing legislation Wednesday to redirect funds the Biden Administration allocated to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to Customs and Border Protection for border security.
