Dear John,

This year, our client Minnie [[link removed]] lost two of her elephant companions. Beulah [[link removed]] collapsed and died at the Big E fair and Karen [[link removed]] died in currently unknown circumstances. For over three decades, the Commerford Zoo imprisoned these three elephants on its property in Goshen, Connecticut and forced them to labor at circuses and fairs under the constant threat of a bullhook.

Exploitation is all Minnie has known but another life is still possible for her. The NhRP has been working to give her this new life in one of two accredited elephant sanctuaries in the US, where she can be free and begin to heal. We are looking forward to arguing for her right to live freely in the Connecticut Appellate Court in a new court date scheduled for Jan. 8th.

Your year-end gift [[link removed]] of $35, $50 or $100 today can help us continue to work to release her from her captors.

DONATE NOW » [[link removed]]

Your donation today means that we can continue to represent Minnie in court—just as we do Happy, held in the Bronx Zoo—demanding that judges treat her the same way they would human beings denied their fundamental right to liberty.

Your donation today also means that we can continue to work with local activists who have experienced firsthand how state and federal agencies have failed to recognize or do anything about the physical and psychological traumas the Commerford elephants have endured. Together, we will uncover what happened to Beulah and Karen. And with your help, there is still hope for Minnie [[link removed]] to live out the rest of her life with autonomy, dignity, and peace.

Thank you for all your support of the NhRP throughout this extremely distressing year for our first elephant clients, the Commerford elephants. Your final gift for this year will help us continue to fight for rights for nonhuman animals like Minnie, no matter the obstacles.

Please make your final gift for 2019 today.
