We could be left with no true protections if DACA is declared unlawful and renewals are no longer permitted. Thousands of DACA recipients week after week would lose their eligibility and face the threat of deportation.
We’re not waiting to act. We’re sounding the alarm and demanding that the Democrats who ran on pro-immigrant platforms step up to protect immigrant communities.
While we need proactive steps to protect people from deportation if they fall out of their DACA status, even an executive order would still ultimately leave people at risk.
We need permanent protections now.
