John,
With voting underway in many states across the country, we’re combating GOP disinformation.
Our latest video takes on GOP lies about the Inflation Reduction Act.
Republican Senators such as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio claim that the new $80 billion in funding for the Internal Revenue Service will result in an army of IRS agents beating down your door, looking for hidden money under your mattress. In reality, this money will allow the IRS to crack down on millionaire and billionaire tax cheats who dodge $160 billion in taxes they owe every year.[1] It will also help you get your calls answered and your refunds processed quickly.
Can you rush an end-of-month contribution today to help us bring this new video to voters across the country and combat GOP disinformation?
Thank you for fighting for a tax system and economy where millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share.

John,
There’s a reason millionaires and billionaires are able to avoid paying $160 billion in taxes they owe each year.[1] As a result of budget cuts by congressional Republicans, IRS audits of corporations are down over 50% and audits of millionaires and billionaires are down 70% over the last decade.[2]
Thanks to you, the recently-enacted Inflation Reduction Act will invest $80 billion over the next ten years to restore IRS staffing levels to where they were before deep Republican budget cuts. That will mean shorter waits to get tax refunds and questions answered, and catching more wealthy and corporate tax cheats.
However, Republicans are intentionally mischaracterizing the benefits of the new law, claiming 87,000 new IRS agents will be hired to audit middle-class families and small businesses. That’s a bald-faced lie. First, the IRS will not hire more than 20,000 new auditors, and they will all focus on cracking down on tax cheating by the richest 1% and big corporations.
We’re fighting GOP disinformation with our latest video, explaining how the Inflation Reduction Act cracks down on wealthy and corporate tax cheats without increasing audit rates on working families. Help bring this new video to voters across the country. Rush an end-of-month donation of $5 today!
As one commentator said of the new IRS enforcement capabilities, “If you’re one of those people who’s hiding a few million bucks in a shell company or offshore account, yeah, I guess you should be a little bit worried. All the rest of us? I don’t think so.”
Donate today to fight back against GOP disinformation and bring the truth about the Inflation Reduction Act to voters across the country.
