Help me keep fighting for Philly.

John –

In a moment, I’ll be asking you to chip in to my campaign before tonight’s end-of-quarter deadline. But first, let's start at the beginning.

I was raised in North Philadelphia and have spent my entire adult life living in the Northwest section of the city. Since my start in politics, I've been fighting to give a voice to the communities that are too often overlooked and left behind.

Dwight Evans speaking with Philly family

Philadelphia is one of the most vibrant cities in the nation, with a history unrivaled by many. Growing up, I knew our potential was limitless, but too many neighborhoods had been neglected, all while federal funding for our city declined.

I grew up watching the government fail to meet the moment and deliver for urban America. That's why in 1980, I ran for office and was elected State Representative for the 203rd Legislative District. It was past time we invested in urban renewal, and I pushed for legislation that would combat poverty, secure affordable housing, tackle food inequality, invest in public schools, and spur economic growth.

My guiding principle has always been this: People deserve to live in clean, safe, and affordable neighborhoods that have access to jobs and good schools — no matter what zip code they live in! For over 30 years, I worked to rebuild neighborhoods block by block. Then in 2016, I took my fight to Washington. Now, I'm proudly representing Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District.

In Congress, I remain steadfast in my commitment to building Philadelphia back, block by block, fighting for economic opportunity, and protecting the rights of everyday Americans from right-wing extremism.

My years in Congress have been eventful, to say the least. We've faced a global pandemic, the disaster that was President Donald Trump, an insurrection, and blatant attacks on our civil rights by Trump and his enablers.

But, we persevered. Because of this grassroots team, we:

  • Secured the largest child tax credit increase in history — supporting 76,000 households in PA-03.
  • Helped invest nearly $1.4 billion in Pennsylvania to improve the state's water infrastructure and ensure safe drinking water for all.
  • Obtained provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act allowing the federal government to negotiate prescription drug prices.
  • Brought home an estimated $11.3 billion in federal highway funding for Pennsylvania, and an estimated $1.6 billion to replace and repair our state's bridges.
  • Passed the largest investment in American infrastructure in a generation.
  • And recently – passed the largest-ever investment by Congress in the fight against climate change!

I couldn’t be more proud to represent my city. I’ve dedicated my life to improving Philly, and I won’t be stopping anytime soon. But I can’t do this alone – I need you on board. Before tonight’s end-of-quarter fundraising deadline, will you contribute to my campaign? By donating, you can help me support Democrats up and down the ballot. >>
