Our right to vote is sacred. And yet — time after time, we see our right to vote under attack with unfair laws and voter suppression tactics designed to confuse, intimidate, and exclude. 

Just remember, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to suppress our votes if our votes weren’t powerful!

Let’s flex our collective power. Let’s Rise + Vote!

Early voting and mail voting have begun in some states. You might already be able to vote where you live! It’s time to make a plan to vote and be sure your voice is heard. They can’t keep us down.

As people of faith, it’s not enough for us to preach the value of justice. We must act on it. The filibuster in the Senate is a remnant of Jim Crow that requires a supermajority of 60 votes to pass almost any kind of national legislation, and its existence allows our leaders to speak of justice without acting on it. 

For the Senate to make real progress on the top issues of our time — voting rights, racial justice, immigration reform, gun violence, and community safety — it must eliminate the filibuster. That means we must support leaders who will work tirelessly to end the filibuster and pass legislation that supports justice in action not just in words. 

Your vote is sacred. Your vote has power. Your vote — when combined with the votes of millions who are ready to act for justice — can bring the filibuster toppling down.

Nuestro derecho al voto es sagrado. Sin embargo – vez tras vez, vemos que nuestro derecho al voto está bajo ataque con legislación injusta y tácticas de supresión electoral diseñadas para confundir, intimidar, y excluir. 

Sólo recuerde – ¡no estarían tratando tanto de oprimir nuestros votos si nuestros votos no fueran poderosos!

Demostremos nuestro poder colectivo. ¡Levantémonos + Votemos!

La votación adelantada y la votación por correo postal ha comenzado en algunos estados. ¡Es posible que ya pueda votar en el área donde vive! Es hora de hacer un plan para votar y asegurar que se escuche su voz. No nos pueden derribar.

Como personas de fe, no es suficiente que prediquemos el valor de la justicia. Debemos actuar. Las tácticas dilatorias en el Senado es un remanente de Jim Crow que requiere una súper mayoría de 60 votos para aprobar casi cualquier tipo de legislación nacional, y su existencia permite que nuestros líderes hablen de la justicia sin tomar acción. 

Para que el Senado logre un progreso verdadero sobre los asuntos principales de nuestro tiempo — derecho al voto, justicia racial, reforma migratoria, violencia de armas, y seguridad comunitaria – deben eliminar las tácticas dilatorias.  Eso significa que debemos apoyar a los líderes que trabajan incansablemente para ponerle fin a las tácticas dilatorias y aprobar la legislación que apoya la justicia en acción, no sólo en palabras. 

Su voto es sagrado. Su voto tiene poder. Su voto – cuando se combina con los votos de millones que están listos para actuar por la justicia – pueden derrotar las tácticas dilatorias.
