Hey there — I struck a deal with my team that if we reach our End-of-Quarter goal tonight then I get to skip dialing-for-dollars next week and go knock doors instead. Can you help?

Since I can’t call everyone before midnight, I’m reaching out via email. If we were on the phone right now, here’s a short version of the conversation we’d have:

What’s your background?

I’m a doctor in California. I joined the Navy after 9/11, and served in Iraq. When I came home, I was an Obama White House Fellow working at the intersection of veterans issues and healthcare.

Why now?

I’m pissed off that the spineless politicians who spread voter fraud lies and encouraged the January 6 insurrection are still walking around the halls of power in our country. That includes my opponent.

Who is your opponent?

Assemblyman Kevin Kiley. He rallies with far-right extremists, is endorsed by Trump, and votes to undermine abortion rights.

Can you win?

We can win this! The Democratic Party has named us one of the campaigns most likely to flip a seat in November.

What will you do with my money?

Our polling says when voters hear the differences between myself and our opponent in this race: a pro-choice doctor/veteran or an anti-choice career politician, we can win. Your donation will help pay for fliers, TV advertisements, radio, and more to reach voters all over the district
