New North Carolina Project Weekly Bulletin

It's been a while, but we've always been working hard offline. Read more about what we're doing leading up to the election, from our digital director, Kristen Havlik.

What Have We Been Up To?

We had a very busy summer organizing in all of the communities where we are first investing. We've made so many invaluable connections and we've enjoyed meeting so many people, hearing their stories and finding a common ground to empower them to vote.

Now that we're just over a month away from the election, we've ramped up our canvassing efforts and we have brought on some amazing organizers to our team to help us reach as many people as possible while knocking on doors. We're making thousands of calls and sending thousands of texts.

TAKE ACTION NOW

We need your help to reach thousands of voters across NC before November 8. Please find a shift that works for you below to help us knock doors, make calls or send texts!

Communities in Action: Building a Better North Carolina

Aimy had the honor of being invited to appear at the White House last week to participate in an event with local legislators and community leaders from NC. Aimy met with Biden-Harris officials and got to learn more about how the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Action has and will continue to impact NC.

Aimy also got to speak on how the American Rescue Plan has helped to provide funding for affordable housing in NC.

We Need Your Support!

For the last few months, one of our amazing regional organizers has been working with some of our partner organizations to empower voters in Charlotte, NC to get out and vote in November through a Block Party on October 22. In order to put on this amazing event, we need your financial support! Our goal is to raise $2500! If you're able to help financially support us, you can do so through the button below.

We could not do this vital work in our state without you. Thank you for any support you can give us!

Abortion Access in NC

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned earlier this year, many states surrounding NC had trigger laws an other states have gone further to completely ban abortion access or restrict it. Because NC is one of the last states in the south to have access to abortion care, we have many people traveling from out of state to receive care. With that influx of people seeking care, means more needs for funds for healthcare, lodging, transportation, childcare and more. We encourage you to keep supporting the Carolina Abortion Fund. Another way to help with abortion access is to become a volunteer with the Carolina Reproductive Action Network. CRAN is a 100% volunteer non-profit that is a network of volunteers that provide local transportation, childcare, doula support and lodging to people seeking reproductive care throughout the Carolinas. If you are someone who has the time and space to give, please consider supporting people seeking care in this direct action. You can learn more about taking action at the button below.
