Reproductive rights are a defining issue for voters in this election, and there’s a stark contrast between Governor McKee’s commitment to protecting a woman’s right to choose and Ashley Kalus’ extreme anti-choice, Trumpian agenda. [[link removed]]
Though she just recently moved to our state, Ashley Kalus is convinced that she can buy her way into the State House. And make no mistake – she’s trying to use her personal wealth to roll back the clock on Rhode Island’s progress.
As long as he is Governor, Dan McKee will always protect women’s rights. In fact, the Governor has stood up for abortion rights throughout his public service career: [[link removed]] advocating for the Reproductive Privacy Act, signing an Executive Order to protect women who travel to Rhode Island seeking reproductive health care, and committing to include the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act (EACA) in his next budget and signing the bill when it hits his desk.
Ashley Kalus has been clear, she will veto any budget including EACA protections for low-income Rhode Islanders, and she does not support Governor Raimondo’s codification of Roe v. Wade.
