As someone who grew up in poverty, watching his single mother work 16-hour days to provide as much as possible for us, I have lived the power of the American Dream.
With help from my mom and my mentor, I learned that I could work hard and achieve the American Dream. I realized the power of education and the incredible opportunities provided by our country.
We must remind Democrats that the American Dream is one of hope and opportunity. When everyone believes in the American dream, we can create policies that make that dream possible in every single zip code in our country.
I know the enormous impact conservative policies can make on a person’s life. I’ll continue working to empower Americans with the tools they need to secure a more prosperous future.
America is at a crossroads, reckoning with contested narratives about its history and identity and facing unprecedented division. Now more than ever, it’s easy to focus on the divisions that plague our nation.
