This past weekend, we learned that Rand Paul has declined to appear on a
debate stage with Charles Booker to defend his record and make his case to
be re-elected by the people of Kentucky.
We can’t say we’re that surprised, Team. After all, it’s all
part of his pattern of being an absent Senator for as long as he’s been in
office:
* Rand Paul has only one district office in Kentucky (he closed the
other four)
* He hasn’t introduced a single bill that has passed in 12 years in the
Senate
* When Kentuckians try to visit his office in D.C., they’re regularly
turned away
* And now that he has a real opponent, he’s hiding from the debates.
He’s taking Kentucky for granted, and we can’t let him get away with it.
