You haven’t heard from me in awhile, and I’m not always comfortable sending these emails, but I wanted to reach out to you today because we’re at such a critical point in Emily’s campaign.

I’ve known Emily nearly half our lives. We met in college when we were 19, and grew up together. Like every couple we’ve shared in joyful moments and we’ve faced hardships. But every challenge I face is made easier by having her by my side.

Over the last few years, I’ve seen how challenging running for office can be. But Emily is out in the community every single day, making sure that she’s doing everything she can to earn your votes – she is truly a dedicated public servant. I’m in awe of her fearlessness and her passion for helping others.

Emily brings her heart and experience to everything she works on. From her commitment to fixing our broken healthcare system, to providing paid family leave for working parents and creating more affordable housing for low-income renters, her own lived experiences and those of her parents and grandparents – and the neighbors she talks to every day – all informs her perspective.

I may be a little biased, but I really believe Emily is the best Senator for the 26th district – not just because she’s my partner, but because she’s my Senator too.
