Washington’s Third Congressional District faces an unprecedented moment in our modern history: Working mom and small business owner Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is facing Joe Kent, a MAGA extremist who aligns himself with white nationalists, openly supports a national abortion ban, and loudly promotes the “Big Lie” conspiracy theory about the 2020 presidential election.
As soon as the primary results were finalized, Cook Political Report upgraded the race
from Solid Republican to only Lean Republican.
Now, the New York Times is saying this race, “
will show us what kind of House we’re going to have come 2023: one that is capable of legislating, or one that makes the Tea Party look tame.”
