As Jahana’s Finance Director, my job is to make sure the campaign has the funding it needs to run smoothly so the Congresswoman can focus on her work in Washington and in the district.

With our end-of-quarter deadline fast approaching, my days are filled with scouring our budgets, checking fundraising totals, and preparing our last financial report of the cycle.

The amount we raise by September 30 will determine the resources we can put toward our voter outreach efforts in the final weeks of the campaign — and coming up short of our goal will signal to our opponent and outside spenders that our campaign is vulnerable.

We’ve got a LOT planned for the final six weeks of this campaign. We have ads live across multiple platforms, we’re hosting events, and our campaign HQ is constantly welcoming new volunteers to phone bank and knock doors.

But all of these plans could come to a halt if we can’t raise enough funds this month to make key investments through Election Day. No fundraising deadline to date has had as much on the line as the one we’re facing right now.
