Dear John, Our Building the Bench program has begun to identify a pool of professionally and demographically diverse nominees for federal court vacancies. We are partnering with a coalition of community and grassroots groups, legal and advocacy partners, attorneys, and law professors across the country to build a bench of diverse nominees that better reflects the diversity of America. As we’ve seen in the past year, judges are crucial to upholding legislation and they are the last line of defense to this administration’s efforts to roll back much of the progress made during the previous eight years. We must be ready on day one of the next administration to commence the selection process of judges and begin to repair the damage done to the judiciary.
