John,
We're just six weeks out from Election Day — and the stakes of the 2022 elections are clearer than ever.
Authoritarian Republicans are waging an all-out assault on our communities. And if they win, we know they are planning to strip us of some of our most cherished freedoms.
The freedom to plan our own families and control our own bodies. The freedom to be who we are, and to be with those we love. The freedom to receive care or get an education without going bankrupt. Even the freedom of the people to decide who represents us in a democracy.
Trump Republicans across the country haven’t been shy about these plans of theirs.
Our mandate from now until Election Day is to stop them at all costs — and to do it by electing more champions to office who will protect our freedoms and build an economy that respects working people.
I want to take a few minutes to spell out WFP’s plans for October and November in a little more detail, John. But before I do:
We have one last quarterly deadline left to go before Election Day, and we are still short of our online fundraising goal for the quarter. Your donations — $3, $10, or any amount — help us reach as many voters as possible down this home stretch. Can you chip in before Friday at midnight?

At the Working Families Party, we came into this election with a three-pronged strategy to elect a Working Families majority that could protect our freedoms and fight for the future we deserve.
Thanks to WFP members like you, we’ve already made incredible progress on all three fronts:
1. Bolstering progressive power in the House.
Eight WFP champions won Democratic primaries for Congressional seats across the country this cycle. From union organizer Greg Casar in Texas to civil rights attorney Summer Lee in Pennsylvania to community leader Delia Ramirez in Illinois to Gen Z activist Maxwell Frost in Florida, they will join a progressive caucus that is bolder and stronger than ever.
But for these new progressive leaders to make real change, we also need to keep a Democratic majority in the House. That means helping each one of our new candidates win in November, and defending vulnerable incumbents from Republican challenges.
2. Fixing the Senate.
According to the polls, we are within striking distance of flipping Senate seats in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. If we elect Mandela Barnes in Wisconsin and John Fetterman in Pennsylvania, we can bypass obstructionist Democrats like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema and finally end the filibuster.
That step alone will open the door for legislation to protect abortion rights, voting rights, union rights, marriage equality, rebalance the right-wing Supreme Court, and so much more.
3. Winning in the states.
The battles for abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, economic justice, and racial justice are being fought state by state. Building power at the state level has always been a core mission of the Working Families Party, and we’re doubling down on that strategy this year.
This primary cycle, more than forty WFP-endorsed new candidates for state legislature won their Democratic primaries. Now we’re going to make sure all of them win their general elections.
Together, we can chip away at GOP legislative majorities in states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, while strengthening progressive majorities in Democratic states like California, New York, and Connecticut.
For nearly a quarter of a century, the Working Families Party has fought to replace corporate Democrats with peoples' champions, often through Democratic primaries. But that’s only part of our fight.
We can’t build the world we want to see — or defend our freedoms and communities — if we don’t stop right-wing Trump Republicans from taking over the government and the country.
So we’re putting it all on the field this November to defeat Trump Republicans like Ron Johnson, Dr. Oz, and many more.
From Pennsylvania to Wisconsin, from Georgia to Arizona and more, our WFP members are in the trenches knocking on doors, texting, phonebanking, and sending postcards. They’re talking with their friends, neighbors, and loved ones about what’s at stake this year, and making sure everyone they know has a plan to vote. And we’re mobilizing voters in 30 states to get out the vote for our entire slate of Working Families Party candidates.
That’s how we came together to beat Trump in 2020. That’s how we’ll beat the authoritarian right in 2022.
But it’s going to take all of us, doing all we can, from now through November 8th.
Your contribution before this last quarterly deadline of the election will help us reach as many voters as possible over the next six weeks. Can you chip in today?
