UPDATE:We have just over 24 hours left before our end-of-month deadline.
WSDC is backing five candidates running in critical swing seats. These races will determine our progress in the years ahead. Connecting with voters has never been more important.
We need to make sure our robust outreach plans are funded through Election Day.
The final weeks of this election won’t be easy, so we need all hands on deck to keep Washington Senate Democrats delivering progress for our communities.
Here’s a quick recap of WSDC’s Democratic candidates running in our Priority Races across the state:
» Senator Emily Randall is a community organizer and a strong leader in the fight for affordable health care and higher education. After flipping her seat from red to blue in 2018, she became the first out queer woman in the State Senate!
» Senator John Lovick is running in one of the most competitive districts in Washington! Senator Lovick was a State Trooper for 31 years and previously served as Snohomish County Executive and Speaker Pro Tempore in the State House.
» Senator Claire Wilson flipped her seat in 2018, becoming the first out lesbian in the State Senate! She’s spent decades working in early education and served as a school board member for Federal Way Public Schools.
» Representative Sharon Shewmake is running against an appointed Republican Senator in the 42nd legislative district. She’s an economist and teacher who is dedicated to fighting for working families in Whatcom County!
» Claudia Kauffman is running to represent the 47th legislative district again after previously holding this seat from 2007-2010. With a long record of serving her community, she’s running in this battleground race to continue championing public safety, education, affordable housing, and a sustainable and prosperous future for our families.
