Friend, with just a single day left until my most important fundraising deadline of the election – our final quarterly FEC deadline – here's what you need to know about our must-win race:

First, my GOP opponent – handpicked by Donald Trump – started raking in cash from Republican megadonors across the country to try and defeat me.

Then, both the RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel AND the head of the Senate GOP campaign group, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), descended on Connecticut to raise even more money to help my opponent flip this seat.

Now, with my fundraising numbers going public after tomorrow's FEC deadline, I'm facing a $16,135 budget shortfall – and running out of time to close the gap.

I must be direct with you, Friend. If we don't make up a shortfall like this before tomorrow's FEC deadline, Republicans will take it as a sign of weakness and pile on their attacks here. With Democrats hanging on to Senate control by the slimmest possible margin, we can't afford to let that happen.
