Hi John, Congresswoman Hayes here reaching out to let you know about our pivotal House race in Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District.

This district is a purple 50/50 split that Republicans have had their eyes on for years because it holds some of the darkest red parts of what is otherwise considered a reliably blue state. It’s the ONLY toss-up district in Connecticut, and the Cook Political Report downgraded our race to be more favorable for the GOP in the 2022 midterm elections.

So I won’t sugarcoat it… we need to keep this seat. If we have any chance of holding the House majority, I must win this race. Yet, national Republicans are going all-in to flip my district: They have already spent nearly $4 million in the district.

Will you rush a split donation between my campaign and The Collective PAC to support the critical work happening around the nation to keep the House blue in November?

The GOP believes that if they win this race, they will take control of the House. That’s why National Republican groups like the RNC and NRCC have made me their target this November and that’s why they’ll stop at nothing to unseat me.

They’re spending millions on attack ads to spread misinformation and trying to bury the work I’ve done. They want me gone, but I’m not going anywhere.

With so many critical rights on the line – from a woman’s right to make decisions about her own healthcare, to childrens’ right to be safe from gun violence in their schools, to the right to marriage equality – Democrats cannot afford to lose a single seat in our razor-thin majority.

This race in CT-05 will help decide who holds the majority in Congress. This race will help decide how we as a country go on reproductive rights, voting rights, gun reform, accessible and affordable healthcare, and so much more.
