Dear Friend,
In the coming weeks, our very own John Sailer will be hosting a number of webinars and releasing a podcast. These discussions will be two parts of a larger project titled “Right Ideas,” which will examine the ever-shifting intellectual landscape of the political right. In the webinar series, panelists will discuss various thinkers who have been important for the intellectual right. In the accompanying podcast, John will interview thinkers and writers who have diagnosed our contemporary moment, such as Carl Trueman, author of The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self, and Leor Sapir, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute.
You might know John from his work exposing the expansive reach of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” in medical schools and throughout academia. In recent months, John has written about the rise of mandatory diversity statements and evaluations for university faculty, and he broke the news about the Association of American Medical Colleges’ new “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Competencies.” If you haven’t read his work, be sure to check it out. He’s a voracious researcher and an ideal host.
If you’re hooked, be sure to register for our first webinar in this project, which will explore James Burnham’s (1905-1987) work and influence and discuss its relevance for contemporary conservatives today. John will be joined by Julius Krein, Editor of American Affairs; Daniel McCarthy, Editor of Modern Age; and Aaron Renn, Co-Founder and Senior Fellow at American Reformer. We’ll host the event next Friday, October 7, at 2 pm ET.
Keep an eye out for future webinars, and we’ll send out a notification once the podcast is up and running!
Best,
Chance Layton
