I can’t be with him on the House floor, so the least I could do is send you a quick note. I may be just a cat, and a pretty darn cute one at that, but I know how hard Jared works day in and day out. One of my favorite examples is his work to address illegal overfishing and its impacts on the ocean. The House Natural Resources Committee will again take up the Magnuson-Stevens Act (MSA) reauthorization bill, co-sponsored by Jared – it will modernize and improve policies for fishing in federal waters, with consideration for climate change for the first time. The way I see it, that means more fish for me! But sustainable fisheries management is actually pretty great for everyone, including the environment.
