Friend, Isn't it frustrating? It feels like every time we go shopping, we end up bringing home a big pile of plastic packaging along with whatever we actually needed. Retailers like Costco, Amazon and Whole Foods have an important role to play in combating the plastic pollution crisis. More than 28% of all the garbage in America is packaging -- that adds up to millions of tons of material that is typically thrown out after a product is purchased or used.1 We're working to convince retailers like Costco to reduce their use of plastic packaging -- but we need your help. Will you donate to PIRG's September Drive to help keep our campaign to combat plastic pollution going strong? When you give before the Sept. 30 deadline, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 nationwide. We know what it takes to win tangible change to create cleaner, healthier communities. Our network has helped 30 states introduce legislation that would ban at least one kind of single-use plastic. Now, we need your help to keep the momentum going and call for companies to change, as well as states. It's become business as usual that we pay for the pollution and waste that companies create. Enough is enough -- it's time to hold plastic producers, wasteful retailers, and other polluters responsible. Thank you, Faye Park Your donation will power our dedicated staff of organizers, policy experts and attorneys who drive all of our campaigns in the public interest, from banning Roundup and moving us beyond plastic, to saving our antibiotics and being your consumer watchdog, to protecting our environment and our democracy. None of our work would be possible without the support of people just like you. |
