Friends: Winning back control of the Senate is just as important as ousting Donald Trump from the White House.

Trust me, I've watched Mitch McConnell block everything from health care to voting rights – all the while moving the Supreme Court to the extreme right by confirming Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. Progress hinges on Democrats winning back a Senate majority.

Democrats can take back the Senate, but experts across the country – like Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight, The New York Times and The Washington Post – all agree: If I lose my race here in Michigan, Democrats won’t be able to win the Senate majority.

Health care, voting rights, Medicare, Social Security and the Supreme Court are all on the line. The only way to protect them is if we win in Michigan and Democrats flip the Senate blue.

This race could determine Senate control. That’s why the GOP has already raised MILLIONS to beat me. Now, polling shows me leading by just one point, 44% to 43%, to Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump's handpicked opponent.
