Make a difference for our Afghan allies.
John,
Last month, groups of bipartisan co-sponsors in both the U.S. House and Senate announced the introduction of the Afghan Adjustment Act – a bill that would give thousands of Afghan allies already in the U.S. a clear pathway to permanent residence.
However, Congress has not yet debated and voted on the legislation – and we need your support in getting it enacted this year.
Will you support our end-of-quarter efforts and make a gift that can help move legislation like the Afghan Adjustment Act forward? Make a gift today!
With an asylum and Special Immigrant Visa backlog that can stretch for years, and options limited for those who may not qualify, Congress must act to resolve the long-term status of Afghan evacuees and provide them a pathway to lawful permanent residence. Without it, they face uncertainty, including lengthy waits for asylum, and potentially even being forced into undocumented status.
Our Afghan allies
can’t continue to live in a state of limbo – they need a pathway to permanent resident status.
Make an end-of-quarter gift today and support our policy efforts to help individuals like our Afghan allies.
My team is working hard to get this bill passed. We’re meeting with members of Congress and their staff, building coalitions with like-minded partners and allies in the movement, drafting policy resources, and working closely with our constituencies to mobilize support for the Afghan Adjustment Act.
There is more work to do to get
this bill passed to help our Afghan allies in the U.S., and you can help us get it done.
With your support today, we can continue to push legislation like the Afghan Adjustment Act forward. Make an end-of-quarter gift today!
With gratitude,
Laurence Benenson Vice President of Policy & Advocacy National Immigration Forum
