We know that 2022 has brought some devastating challenges. Still, with every challenge, people have come together to fight back. That gives me hope.

The dangerous Dobbs decision ripped reproductive rights away from millions of people across the country. But women are now registering to vote in large numbers. And voters in Kansas overwhelmingly chose to protect reproductive freedom. People are making a plan to vote. That gives me hope.
We've seen school boards pass extremist policies and try to ban books and hide history. Well, one 18-year-old climate activist in Idaho saw that a right-wing person was running for school board unopposed and decided to run against her. And I'm happy to say he won and is now fighting for better schools. Activists are running for office and winning. That gives me hope.
After the Supreme Court limited the Environmental Protection Agency's power to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act. This legislation includes historic funding for clean energy and pollution reduction. We're more equipped than ever to fight climate change and create good-paying jobs. Congress is getting things done. That gives me hope.
