Hi John,
Here at Victory Fund, we’re wrapping up a phenomenal year and getting ready to take a short break for the holidays. But before we get too swept up in the holiday spirit and join our families, I wanted to make another ask: will you join the Victory Caucus for the 2020 cycle? The more members that chip in, the more LGBTQ candidates we can support in 2020. [[link removed]]
You’ve heard a lot over the last couple days from our historic candidates about Victory Fund’s huge plans for 2020. It’s an overused phrase, but one that rings true here: this is the most important election cycle of our lifetime. In 2018, Victory Fund endorsed the most candidates ever in our history. But 2020 is going to blow that number out of the water. We’re predicting we’ll double our 2018 numbers and have over 500 candidates on the ballot.
That’s over 500 LGBTQ candidates running to make history and stand against bigotry. If there’s one number that convinces you to join the 2020 Victory Caucus right now, I hope it’s this one. [[link removed]]
Over 500 LGBTQ candidates that are counting on Victory Fund, each of them a barrier against anti-equality forces. Each of them a voice for representation, a fighter for equality. We cannot sit on the sidelines – and we cannot let them lose.
We must retake the White House – imagine allowing Trump and Pence to enjoy another four years spent attacking trans people, appointing radical right-wing judges and following the marching orders of religious fanatics who wish to shove LGBTQ people back into the closet – or worse. And should the worst happen, we must defend our openly LGBTQ members of Congress and add five more LGBTQ members to create an impenetrable firewall against hate-based legislation.
And while the stakes at the federal level could not be higher, we also must maintain and gain ground in state legislatures across the country. As Deb Butler mentioned to you last week, John, we are working to retake state legislatures long held by anti-LGBTQ forces. If we can compete in two states known as petri dishes for anti-LGBTQ legislation, we’ll prove once again that outlandish bigotry has no place in the political arena.
But we can’t enact any of these grand plans if we don’t have the resources to win. Give Victory Fund a jumpstart on the biggest election cycle of our lifetime - become a 2020 Victory Caucus Member today. Over 500 LGBTQ candidates are counting on you. [[link removed]]

LGBTQ Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win elections up and down the ballot, from sea to shining sea since our founding in 1991. We believe representation is power – so we elected U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Kyrsten Sinema, Governors Jared Polis and Kate Brown, all seven LGBTQ members of U.S. Congress and countless candidates for state and local government, including Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod and Pennsylvania Assemblymember Brian Sims. And with an unprecedented number of LGBTQ people running for office in this year, we’ll need your support to make 2020 the next Rainbow Wave. This email was sent to
