John, here's my promise:
I will always prioritize the needs of the people of Missouri's 1st — because I care that every person has what they need to thrive and live life to the fullest.
When white supremacists attempted a deadly overthrow of our government, I rose with St. Louis in mind to introduce a bill to investigate and expel any and all members of Congress who incited that insurrection.
When Congress adjourned without extending the eviction moratorium, I thought back to the eviction notices I had received and made the decision to stay on the Capitol steps for however long it would take to protect people from eviction.
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, I protested at the very same Planned Parenthood where I had an abortion and was arrested outside of the Supreme Court demanding the codification of Roe into law.
And when Amazon's unsafe labor practices led to the death of six workers, including two of my constituents, during a tornado, I launched an official oversight investigation into Amazon and introduced two bills to keep workers safe during climate disasters.
I'm committed to doing the most for our communities — starting with those who have the greatest need, but I can't do this alone. Our movement is 100% grassroots-powered, so John, will you chip in $5 or anything you can toward our end-of-quarter goal to help power our re-election campaign so we can win our election in November and continue this work?
To be candid, we face immense challenges. From the Jim Crow filibuster and dark money lobbyists to disinformation and white supremacy, this work requires our full commitment and participation.
That's why it's so important we work together. We proved the power of the people in 2020 when we defeated a 20-year incumbent. Now we're going to use that same people power to ensure the People's Response Act, Medicare for All, the Women's Health Protection Act, the Green New Deal for Cities, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and so many more bills become law.
In my first term, we passed over 25 pieces of legislation, but we have far more work ahead — and every dollar donated to emails like this one goes directly to helping power and strengthen our movement. So, John, I'm asking for a favor.
Thank you for all of your support. Your Congresswoman loves you.
