Celebrating an exceptional group of women and changemakers…

Dear John

For 30 years, Equality Now has tackled the most difficult barriers to gender equality, challenging ingrained cultural assumptions and calling out inequality whenever and wherever we see it. I am personally grateful, as is our entire team, to the countless people across the globe who have helped us to make equality reality.

As we look back on our three decades of progress, we also reflect upon the people who have helped shape our mission, our values, and our work —and who have inspired us in different and critical ways.

Today, I am so proud to share with you Equality Now’s 30 For 30 ([link removed]) , recognizing the women and changemakers who have helped us to make the world a better place for all women and girls.
Meet Our 30 For 30 ([link removed])

They represent different fields and contexts, from activists, politicians, and Supreme Court justices to internationally bestselling authors, actors, and business leaders. We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of Equality Now. Our global staff and board members—including a new essay by our Board Chair Emeritus, Gloria Steinem—have each contributed essays celebrating the impact these women have had on their lives and careers.

We also pay tribute to the courageous women who founded Equality Now and the women who have resourced the work. They are a critical part of our ecosystem of change.

Today and over the coming weeks, I hope you will enjoy this chance to get to know this exceptional group who do their part to create a world where every woman and girl can live safe, fearless, and free.

In solidarity

Yasmeen Hassan,
Global Executive Director, Equality Now

P.S. Our 30th Anniversary celebrations will culminate at our 30th Anniversary Gala on November 15 at Guastavino’s in New York City. The evening will be one of inspiration through performances, music, and activism to support equality for women and girls and celebrate the women and changemakers we are recognizing as our 30 For 30.
