Before Kenyan was elected to the DC Council, he served as a trial attorney for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice under Perez’s leadership. Kenyan has been a dedicated public servant throughout his life and brings critical public safety experience to the Council. Experience that has translated into results for residents across the city. To quote Secretary Perez, “Kenyan was a star at the DOJ and has been a star on the DC Council … He gets stuff done.”
