We’ve just come to the end of a summer marked by climate catastrophes and political upheaval – yet it seems we’re about to head into a winter that could be marked by even more hardship.
It would be easy to lose hope. But we are a people of faith. We have faith in a better world. So we’d like to invite you to join us on Saturday 29 October to look at how we can put our faith into action.
Together, we'll explore the role of hope in our faith and we’ll be hearing from people we work with overseas who are bearing witness to that hope. We’ll also hear from CAFOD colleagues and from campaigners in parishes around England and Wales about what we can do to tackle the problems we face.
That means fixing a global food system which doesn’t work for those who work the hardest and which is making the climate crisis worse.
It means fixing a corporate system where some big businesses prioritise profit over people and our common home.
And it means fixing the focus of decision makers to deliver on their duty to tackle the climate emergency at this autumn’s COP27 climate talks and beyond.
