John, students are walking out of classrooms across Virginia to protest Youngkin’s awful directive reversing trans protections laid out by former Gov. Northam.

High school and middle school students from Fairfax to Vienna took action yesterday, demanding the governor abandon his anti-trans crusade.

These courageous students are speaking out against discriminatory policies that are downright dangerous. As adults, we need to make sure our state Senate has a solid Democratic majority that can defeat evil, discriminatory directives from Youngkin. We need to elect Hala to expand our majority, but first we need to take stock of our resources. Yesterday, we set an ambitious goal to raise $2,500 before the third quarter ends on Friday. Across the country, Republican-led state governments are hellbent on rolling back the progress we’ve made, on all levels of government, to protect and uplift our youth as they forge their identities. It is so powerful to see the very same youth fighting back, but they need to know adults have their back. It is now even more important than ever that we elect Hala and widen our Senate majority.

Inspired by our youth, we know we’re on the right side of history. Unfortunately though, that’s not enough.
