Derek was honored to meet with educators this past weekend to hear their concerns, and how he can continue fighting for them — and students — in Congress.

As the son of two public school teachers, Derek learned to appreciate the value of education from a young age. He knows that educators all across the country – especially during the height of the pandemic – have gone the extra mile. These past few years have been tough for kids (and parents) and educators have consistently cared for the well-being of students and worked to help them develop the tools they need to become tomorrow's leaders.

Team – many educators have rallied together in the wake of the pandemic to fight to support students in getting access to important resources. And they continue to find creative and engaging ways to serve their students.
