There have been 502 mass shootings in the first three quarters of 2022. The last four months in a row–May, June, July, and August–each recorded more than 60 mass shootings. Before 2020, there had never been a month with over 60 mass shootings. It happened five times in 2020 and six times in 2021. This year is on track to be even worse.

We share numbers like this not to sensationalize, but to emphasize how much work we have left to do. We cannot afford to press pause on the fight to end gun violence.
