What's at stake in our effort to reelect Jamaal to represent us in the House?
Here's one example: Just last week, the House rammed through huge amounts of spending for police without any sort of accountability measures to address police brutality and misconduct.
Usually votes like this go unnoticed. But a principled group of progressives, including Jamaal, put up a fight to show their opposition to the unchecked police spending plan. Without leaders like him in the House, leadership would have quietly been able to spend millions on unaccountable policing.
A few short years ago, there were barely any progressives willing to take a stand like this. Now, Jamaal and others are making their voices heard. We have to keep adding to our ranks in Congress — we can't afford to go backwards.
As we're facing a GOP opponent and the final end-of-quarter deadline of this election, now is when we need our movement to show our strength.
