This past year marked PRA’s 40th anniversary as a guiding force for social justice movements determined to overcome anti-democratic and supremacist forces. At this milestone, we draw strength from decades of experience that we now apply to the critical challenges at hand.

We’ve all suffered some hard setbacks in 2022 — the SCOTUS abortion decision, state and local gag rules on teaching race and gender realities in the classroom, anti-trans legislation, and political violence targeting Black and Brown communities. With so much on the line, we continue to fight for a just and inclusive multiracial democracy in which supremacist and authoritarian forces are relegated to the margins of our society. Can we count on your support before our fiscal year ends on September 30?

As the critical November midterm elections approach, PRA is monitoring hundreds of Far Right activists who are candidates for state and federal offices – the hardest edge of the broader MAGA movement. 

Yet even as we address such immediate threats to human rights, we are preparing for a generational struggle for justice and democracy. Dismantling deeply rooted systems of oppression does not come easily or swiftly and requires long-term strategy and durable infrastructure. Forty-one years after our founding, PRA holds strong to our founder Jean Hardisty’s vision of equipping justice movements with applied research on right-wing, antidemocratic movements.
