During High Holiday services at my synagogue and so many around the world, the sound of the shofar is a highlight. For me and for our movement, the blasts hold metaphorical meaning -- both as a wake-up call and a rallying cry.
For months, J Street has been focused on delivering this vital call to our community and leaders:
We’ve been calling for our leaders to wake up to the threat that endless conflict and occupation pose to Israelis and Palestinians alike. Sounding the alarm that without any hope or horizon for just and equal peace, failure to resolve the conflict may soon come to a head with terrible consequences for all.
Closer to home, we’ve pressed our community’s top institutions to wake up to the threat posed by the extremist, conspiracy-laden MAGA movement, calling for clear red lines and an end to normalizing their dangerous politics.
Now, as the midterm elections race toward us, we’re blasting a rallying cry:
We’re marshaling the full force of our movement to stop any more dangerous, anti-democratic MAGA candidates from gaining a platform in Congress. Rallying our community, mobilizing voters and working to defend and expand our pro-Israel, pro-democracy majority in the House and Senate. Standing up for our true values before it’s too late.
