Hi there,

As the newest member of Team Trahan, I’m excited to introduce myself!

My name is Sam Smith, and I’m the Finance Director for Lori’s campaign. Budgeting for canvassing materials, refreshments for volunteers, community events, and more…those are all key components to making sure this campaign runs like a well-oiled machine.

In a minute, I’m going to ask you to help get us over the finish line for this quarter’s fundraising goal. [[link removed]] But first, I want to tell you a little bit about why I’m so proud to be on Team Trahan and how I got here.

I was raised in a working family in rural Missouri by my father, a mechanic, and my mother, a social worker. She taught me about the importance of a quality and accessible education: she earned her undergraduate degree when she was 38 and I was 16, and we attended college together while she completed her graduate degree.

Since then, I’ve worked on nine different campaigns and directed a county party, which is how I discovered my passion for fundraising. Without enough resources on hand, we can’t elect the folks who are dedicated to delivering for families like mine and have their community’s best interests at heart. It all comes down to fundraising.

I’m proud to use my skills and expertise to support Lori. Her vision for the future of our country, one where working families have access to the good-paying jobs and affordable health care necessary to succeed, is what we need right now. And her accomplishments as a legislator show that she has what it takes to make that vision a reality.
