This is huge, John.

Back in August, we joined a lawsuit challenging Arizona’s S.B. 1260 – a racist voter suppression bill disguised as an effort to clean up voter rolls.

Today, a federal judge handed down a huge victory by blocking two key provisions of this onerous law. This is a great development for Arizona voters, especially young voters and voters of color who were previously facing the risk of mass disenfranchisement.

Voto Latino is committed to fighting to ensure Latino voters have the opportunity to make our voices heard, including by working to permanently block this law and others like it in court. Will you donate today to help us continue all of our voter protection, education, and mobilization work?

Today’s decision blocks portions of Arizona’s S.B. 1260 that would:

Allow election officials to cancel voter registrations without notifying voters and make it harder for voters to cast a ballot if they had previously been registered in another Arizona county.

Criminalize individuals and organizations, like Voto Latino, who provide voting assistance to Arizona voters who may be registered in another state.

After months of intense litigation, it’s a huge victory to see these harmful provisions blocked in time for Election Day – but our work is far from over. There are less than two weeks until the Arizona voter registration deadline.

Republicans know that when young Latinos are organized and mobilized, our votes are an unstoppable force, and that’s why they’re working so hard to block our efforts. With your grassroots support, we’ll continue fighting back to defend the right to vote. Will you pitch in now to help power our work?
